About ACP
The Association of Community Pharmacists (ACP) was established as a North Carolina-based trade group to help independent pharmacies affect state policies. As a result of its effective grassroots programs, ACP developed the Congressional Network for more than 15,000 pharmacy owners across the nation.
The ACP Congressional Network is intended to keep independent pharmacy owners informed of state and federal policies that affect their businesses, and to coordinate communication by independent pharmacists with members of Congress and state policy makers.
ACP operates under the following vision:
- That each independent pharmacy will be able to provide vital professional health care services to patients in a business environment which the pharmacy controls.
- The independent pharmacy owner believes that the health and well-being of each and every patient is the top priority of his or her profession.
- Patients should have full choice and access in the market to select his or her pharmacy location, services, and pricing.
- The business of providing retail pharmacy services should be managed by the pharmacy owner, not PBMs and other entities outside of the pharmacy.
